MEGAUPLOAD SHITS THE BED

Hello
As you may well know, Megaupload was shut down and I fear that Mediafire (which I use to host every music file on this site) may not be far behind. If you have good recommendations for file hosting sites that are both free and reliable, I want to hear what you have to say. In the event that Mediafire shuts down, I want to keep doing this site and make it easy for you to hear all this music.
                Thanks

I hear ya man! My whole blog ,over 3 years ,1080 files , i need to get an external hardrive to hold all these files, man ,that would suck to lose it all ,as some have already.Fuck the government ,it's freedom of speech ,and my blog ,much like your's ,has bands I've been in ,my solo projects ,and music that you can't find anywhere else ,usually rare out of print stuff that will never be uploaded by anyone else ,or see the light of day on CD.I appreciate everything you do ,i've heard lots of awesome bands I never would have heard ,if not for you. Man ,you really do have a goldmine of rarities here. Hopefully we can both proceed further without any problems. That would be totally bitchin'! Later buddy ,G O D

I am sure that in this day and age of internet piracy that something reliable will pop up somehow. I have everything backed up as of now..well, most of it, so I can repost it...I just don't want to have to do that.

I will think about that compilation thing.

Mediafire's probably pretty low on the hit list, I would think. They'll take down stuff pretty much when anybody requests it, no questions asked. Megaupload, apparently, was pretty bold about doing the opposite, not to mention paying cash money to people who uploaded new release movies and stuff. Mediafire's got tons of music, but not very many movies or tv shows due to the upload limit, which makes it less of a target.

Of this is all conjecture - who knows how all this will play out?

Thanks Blair. I didn't know any of this info. I haven't followed the Megaupload story at all. I just knew it was shut down.

I think you're ok with mediafire for now. Like Blair said it's probably pretty low on the hit list. Megaupload was notorious for allowing movie uploads - which is what this piracy issue is mostly about.

You might be screwed once that Chickenhead biopic comes out, though...

Both megaupload and mediafire always immediately removed stuff from our small independent label when requested. Just so ya know
